There are a few things to take into consideration when selecting your display.
At the most basic level, your display needs to be HD capable with at least one HDMI input. The media player (provided by Mediplay) connects to the display via an HDMI cable, which is a standard input on all new HDTVs. If you are using an older display, please verify that it has an HDMI input.
We recommend you purchase a LCD or LED HDTV. The two are very similar, however LEDs tend to be thinner and use less power than LCDs.
When selecting the screen size, take into consideration the size of the room in which your Mediplay system will be installed. The larger the room, the larger the screen should be. The goal is for your display to be large enough so that your patients can easily read your content. Generally, we recommend a display that is 50″ or larger.
The last thing to consider is available resolutions. The Mediplay network has the ability to display content at multiple resolutions and although the Mediplay approved resolutions are standard on modern HD displays, we have listed them here for reference:
- 1920 x 1080
- 1366 x 768
- 1360 x 768
- 1280 x 768
- 1280 x 720
Note: Do not purchase or use a Plasma display! They have been known to burn images permanently into the screen when left on for extended periods of time.
